in windows media player it says it will play .avi and .wav video files only.the videos im tring to dowload end in .rar.html therefore the message after downloding and trying to play on windows is that windows does not support the file type.i have downloaded all codecs but what player supports those file types?how can i get the videos to play?

I recorded some streaming video from an animal web cam. They would play fine in Windows Media Player 11 just fine. Now, they won’t play. All that shows up on the screen is the visual effects like I am playing music. I didn’t record sound with the videos. I have tried using Quick Time, Real Player, and DivX player, but they won’t bring anything up. I tried downloading and re-installing Windows Media Player 11 again, but that didn’t work. How can I fix this?

I have Windows Vista and my default video player is Windows Media Player. I hate it because it never works! I opened up the video I wanted to watch and it says “Connecting to Media” and then “Ready” but I press play and it goes back to “Connecting to Media” over and over again. How do I either
1) Change it to something else, or
2) Remove it and use another video player, or
3) Configure the settings so it will work better

Is there a way to take screenshots and video clips from real media player?

I have the free version of Real Player, and I want to make some still and animated avatars, but the video files I want to use are in rmvb format. I tried using the printscreen button, but the computer does something wierd with that… it’s hard to describe. I can paste my screen into any imaging program, but it will only show black where the real player window was, and if real player is running, it will actually show the image through that black spot, but only if real media is behind the window. Like I said, it’s hard to describe. But is there a program I can use to edit real media video files, or convert them to an mpeg or avi format? BTW- I have dial up and can’t afford to buy any software so please only suggest a freeware or demo that is reasonable to download on a 56k modem or a solution that involves changing my pc settings or something. Thnx.

I want to save the video file with the sound adjustments so I can use the modified version elsewhere. However, when I extracted the audio from that video again, the sound was back to default. What should I do if I want to extract the NEW audio from the video?

when click on a wed page, for example when a visitor is browseing and they see a video or music they want to watch or listen too they click that hyperlink whick is link to a file. the file should make media appreas and the file starts to play.
another example when browseing youtube.com you see a video you click on it and it starts to play in video player to the side. I want to do something like that.
I spent almost 8 hourse browsing the interent looking to do this but i failed.
